Drywall and suspended ceilings
Drywall done well goes unnoticed: the edges stay crisp, the joints don’t open up in the second winter and raking light shows no waves. All of that is decided in the metal frame, the part nobody will ever see again.
We do dry-lining work in flats, offices and shops across Turin and Piedmont: partition walls, linings to keep the neighbours’ noise out, suspended ceilings to hide services, and coves for LED strips.
The work we do every day
Partition walls
From 75 to 125 mm thick, single or double boarded, with noggins wherever a TV, shelves or sanitaryware will hang.
Insulated linings
To cut out a neighbour’s noise or straighten a wall that is out of plumb, with mineral wool in the cavity.
Suspended ceilings
Dropped ceilings that reshape the room and carry the lighting with them: downlights, LED strips and light slots, with the services disappearing above.
Coves and light slots
Continuous channels for LED profiles, with crisp edges and the rebate sized to the profile chosen.
Niches and media walls
Bookcases, TV recesses and bespoke niches, drawn out on site with the people who live there.
Ducts and access panels
Boxing-in of soil stacks with access panels and, where required, certified fire-rated board.
Six stages, none skipped to save time
The same stages apply to a box room and to a 400 m² office. The materials change, the method doesn’t.
Setting out
We mark the exact position of walls, doors and service runs on the floor and throw it up to the ceiling with a laser level. This is also where we decide where noggins go: a cupboard hung on empty board is a problem that turns up six months later.
Metal framing
U-tracks fixed at floor and ceiling. C-studs at 60 cm centres, reduced to 40 where the load calls for it, each one checked for plumb and crimped to the track.
Services and insulation
Before we close up, we run conduit, back boxes and pipework and fill the cavity with mineral wool (typically 40-70 kg/m³, depending on the acoustic result needed). We photograph all of it: if anyone needs to go back in later, they know where to cut.
Boarding
12.5 mm boards screwed with staggered joints, never crossing. Double board where stiffness or insulation calls for it, moisture-resistant board in wet rooms, high-density board behind sanitaryware and in circulation areas.
Jointing
Three passes with paper tape over the joints, screw heads filled and metal beads on every external corner. Each coat has to dry fully: rushing this always shows, and it shows for years.
Skim and finish
Careful skimming of joints, screw heads and junctions with dedicated plasterboard fillers, up to a Q3 finish level. The surface is evened out and prepared for painting, for a smooth, uniform and professional result.
The numbers and materials we work to
What it costs, in round figures
Guide figures, excluding VAT, for work carried out in normal site conditions. The final price comes out of the site visit: it depends on access, the state of the substrate and the quantities.
What people ask us about drywall
Can I hang a TV or wall units on a drywall wall?
Yes. We can build timber reinforcement into the frame at the points where the TV, wall units or other loads will be fixed. Alternatively we can use high-strength boards, such as Fassa Bortolo GypsoLIGNUM or Knauf Diamant, which carry heavy loads even without internal reinforcement.
How much of the neighbour’s noise does it really stop?
A lot, if the solution is designed properly. For voices, TV and other noise between flats we build acoustic linings with mineral wool and dedicated high-performance boards, which noticeably reduce the noise you hear. For footsteps or noise from the floor above we use dedicated systems instead, such as decoupled or self-supporting acoustic ceilings, to limit the transmission of vibrations. Each solution is chosen according to where the noise comes from, so that it really tackles the problem.
Will the joints show after a few months?
No, if the work is done properly. A well-built frame and careful joint treatment, with tape and several passes of filling and skimming, give a smooth and lasting surface. Installed correctly, the joints don’t show and the problem doesn’t come back over time.
Will you do just the framing, without the finish?
Yes. Plenty of practices and contractors call us in for framing and boarding only, with someone else finishing. In that case we hand over the surface jointed to the agreed level and documented with photos of the services.
Let’s measure it together
We bring the laser and the tape, look at where the services run, and tell you what can be done and what it costs.
